West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari laid the foundation stone for Shyam Steel's ₹15,000 crore production unit at Mejia in Bankura, calling it a major boost for industrial growth, employment, and the state's economy. He said West Bengal is attracting significant investments from leading companies, including Amul and the Adani Group, reaffirming that the state is "open for business." Adhikari also announced that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will virtually inaugurate Amul's ₹700 crore dairy plant in Howrah, while another ₹4,000 crore investment in Durgapur is set to move forward after August 15. He added that discussions with several major business groups are underway as the nine-week-old government focuses on accelerating industrial development.
