Three Indian seafarers were killed in an attack on the Palau-flagged vessel MT Settebello off the coast of Oman near the Strait of Hormuz. The Indian government has lodged a strong protest and summoned the American Chargé d'Affaires (CDA) to express concerns over the incident. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that while the affected vessels were foreign-flagged and not Indian-owned, India remains deeply concerned about the safety of its citizens and maritime security in the region.
