Following a meeting with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari stated that the funds have been committed and work will begin immediately. The proposed investment aims to enhance rail connectivity, modernize infrastructure, improve passenger facilities, strengthen freight operations, and boost economic growth throughout West Bengal.
